Vyksa Steel Works - one of Russia's oldest metallurgical centers - was established in 1757.

Today, Vyksa Steel Works is a major domestic producer of longitudinal welded pipes with various diameters designed for oil and gas production and transport, construction, and the housing and utility sector. The pipes are manufactured from sheet steel that has undergone a 100% automated ultrasonic testing. The potential pipe production capacity of Vyksa Steel Works is over 2 million tonnes of pipes per year.

Vyksa Steel Works is the world's major producer of solid wheel designed for railroad passenger and freight cars, railroad engines, and subway trains. Under the current contract signed by OMK, Vyksa Steel Works, and Russian Railways, the Works is to supply about 5 million railroad wheels until 2010.
