OMK-Participation Foundation Provides Equipment and Materials Worth of 3 Million Rubles to Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Research Institute
On October 29, 2009, the charitable foundation OMK-Participation provided the Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Research Institute, part of the Public Institution “Blokhin Russian Oncological Research Center” (GURONTs), with medical equipment and expendable materials (a neonatal intensive care place, as well as a freezer and two refrigerators to be used for creating blood banks), worth of more than 3 million rubles, for the treatment of seriously ill children.
Actors of the puppet theater Firebird gave a merry performance, Chok the Piglet, for the seriously ill patients of the Oncological Center and talked with their little spectators.
“Today, we have provided the Pediatric Oncology Research Institute with a set of equipment which will be of help to many of you, I am sure,” said Irina Sedykh, President of the Board of Trustees of the OMK-Participation Foundation, in her speech addressed to the management of the Institute and its young patients. “All this was bought using the money collected by people who are not indifferent to your future. The money collected by the OMK-Participation Foundation, which is more than 3 million rubles, was donated by those who had openheartedly given some parts of their wages for your benefit and speedy recovery.”
“I deeply appreciate the assistance provided by the OMK-Participation Foundation and United Metallurgical Company,” said GURONTs Deputy Director Georgy Mentkevich. “At a time when the government is not always can come to the aid of children patients, there are companies, like OMK for instance, whose civil responsibility cannot but inspire respect.”
Over the 12 months of its existence, the OMK-Participation Foundation provided seriously ill children with assistance worth of more than 12 million rubles. This made it possible to save the lives of dozens of children.

The main consumers of OMK products include such leading Russian and foreign companies as Gazprom, Russian Railways, LUKOIL, Transneft, Surgutneftegas, Rosneft, TNK-BP, ExxonMobil, Royal Dutch/Shell, General Electric, and Samsung.
